The best way to get to know Kingston

Historic Tidbits
• July 1, 1867 Dominion of Canada created. Psalm 72:8’ And he shall have Dominion from sea to sea and from the river to the ends of the earth’.

• “As long as the French are French and the English, the memory of the Conquest and its effects will remain. Not until that great day comes when each shall have lost themselves in a common Canadianism will it be obliterated” P 64, A.R.M. Lower- Colony to Nation.

Common now, you remember the author and the book - a bit dated perhaps, but worth rereading.

• Seaway details: Montreal is 20 feet above sea level, Lake Ontario is 248 feet, Lake Huron 578, and Lake Superior 602. Lots of locks needed here. Prior to locks, rapids dominated movement along the St. Lawrence and Great Lakes.
